Privacy

This page describes what data Alletukkers.nl processes, from whom, and for what purpose. The page is updated as circumstances change.

Visitor analytics

Alletukkers.nl uses Matomo for visitor statistics. Matomo is self-hosted, so no analytics data is shared with external parties. No tracking cookies are placed. Matomo records anonymized data such as visited pages, referrer, and browser type. This data is used solely to improve how the site works.

Server logs

The web server records standard technical request data: IP address, timestamp, visited page, and browser. This is a normal part of how any website functions and is indistinguishable from standard internet traffic. These logs are not actively analyzed and are automatically overwritten over time.

Feedback form

If you fill out the feedback form, your name, email address, and message text are emailed to the site administrator. This data is not stored in a database and is used solely to answer your question or comment.

If you sign up for the newsletter, your email address is stored at Sender, the service Alletukkers uses to send updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of each newsletter. Sender has its own privacy policy.

Donations via Ko-fi

Alletukkers.nl's donation page is hosted on Ko-fi. When you click the Ko-fi link, you leave this site. Depending on how you choose to support and which payment provider you use, Alletukkers.nl may receive personal data such as your name, email address, any message you leave when making a donation, and in some cases additional information shared by the payment provider. Ko-fi and the payment provider have their own privacy policies

Genealogical data

The database contains historical records and personal data made available through Open Archives under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. The data is displayed as provided by the archives, without editorial processing. Articles or other texts on this site that refer to or are based on this data are editorial work and are separate from the underlying data.

Bot protection

To prevent spam and abuse via forms, Alletukkers.nl uses Cloudflare Turnstile by Cloudflare. Turnstile checks in the background whether a visitor is human, without requiring you to solve a puzzle or tick a box. This may involve sending technical data such as IP address and browser characteristics to Cloudflare. More information can be found in Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

External services and future changes

This site currently uses Matomo (analytics), Sender (newsletter), Ko-fi (donations), and Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection). If other services are added in the future — such as advertisements or social media integrations — this page will be updated before those services become active.
